The Mindset BJJ Academy Curriculum is what sets us apart from other jiujitsu academies. Objectives for each belt are clear, measurable and guaranteed to better your jiujitsu over time. Our curriculum is age appropriate mentally, physically and emotionally. Due to how unique the curriculum is, we cannot post it in full. However below is an idea of some of the objectives of white belts at various ages:

JitzPlay (18-36mo)

- Introduction to large motor skills such as forward rolls, watermelon roll, back roll, break fall

- Coordination skills such as jumping, balance board, bear crawl and obstacle course

- Social skills such as sharing, making eye contact, high fives and waving

- Basic martial arts skills including front kick hammer fist, mount

Warriors (3-6yrs)

- Mastering large motor skills such as forward rolls, watermelon roll, back roll, break fall

- Coordination skills such as running, balance board, creature crawling and obstacle course

- Social skills such as sharing, waiting turns in a line, partner games

- Basic martial arts skills striking, ducking, blocking, sprawling, take-downs, bjj drills

- Fitness skills such as squats, push-ups and jumping jacks

Jr Samurai (6-10yrs)

- Intro to BJJ footwork and drilling sequences

- Coordination skills such as burpees, partner exercises, balance board, balance games

- Social skills such as speaking with confidence, waiting in a line, taking turns, competing

- Basic martial arts skills striking, blocking, guard passing, sweeping, basic submissions, take-downs

- Fitness skills such as squats, push-ups, sit-ups and jumping jacks

Sr Samurai (10-14yrs)

- Intermediate BJJ footwork and drilling sequences

- Coordination skills such as shield/dummy drills, hip escapes, technical stand up

- Social skills such as making new friends, leading warm-ups, showing respect, confidence

- Basic martial arts skills striking, blocking, guard passing, sweeping, basic submissions, take-downs

- Fitness skills such as squats, push-ups, sit-ups and jumping jacks

Adult(14+yrs)

- BJJ footwork and drilling sequences

- Submission and sweeps from closed guard

- Intro to de la riva

- Top and bottom game strategy

- Atos style drilling

- Take downs including single and double leg, basic judo throws

- Holding back position

- Submissions from mount

- Tournament strategy 

- Inversion warm-ups
